Public Safety

  • Have well-trained law enforcement equipped to protect all citizens without violating the civil rights of any.

  • Help recruit officers to fill vacancies that are significantly impacting the number of patrol officers that we have on a day-to-day basis.

  • Invest in and collaborate with others to increase workforce development programs for young people, thus, helping to interrupt violence.

Transparency

More transparency is needed in meetings, and how money is spent - no close meetings, budgets should be able to be reviewed by anyone, and laws and decisions are open to discussion.

Economic Development

We need leaders that will….

  • Support a living wage of $15 at the state and national levels. Remove barriers that discourage new investments

  • Prioritize continued support for small businesses.

  • Invest in institutions of higher education as engines of innovation and job creation

  • Foster diverse communities, utilizing untapped talent to drive higher economic returns as well as greater equity

  • Build basic infrastructure to ensure future growth and to retain a highly trained local workforce

Housing

  • Our housing affordability crisis requires a multi-pronged approach including financial investments, development incentives, updated planning and zoning ordinances, anti-displacement strategies, partnerships with non-profit organizations, and new rent stability and affordable homeownership programs.

  • Homeownership and credit counseling for first-time homebuyers, families in public housing or receiving housing choice vouchers, and newcomers to the United States of America

  • Continued investment in short-term measures needs to be combined with long-term solutions to help people exit homelessness permanently.

Education and Quality of Life

  • ·We need to invest in education, better wages will make people want to choose education as a career path.

  • ·Support STEM programs for the Youth

  • ·Work with Nonprofits that focus on youth development

  • Poverty, education level, and housing are three important social determinants of health. These three factors are strongly correlated with individual health. People with higher incomes, more years of education, and a healthy and safe environment to live in have better health outcomes and generally have longer life expectancies.

Climate/Environment

  • Expand options for energy efficiency and renewable energy production targeted especially at Green Zones and BIPOC communities

  • Invest in mobility hubs and other mechanisms that support increased mobility with fewer cars and less driving

  • Invest in green workforce development to provide employment and job training opportunities for union workers and workers from underrepresented communities
